Children's Hospital seeing increase in flu symptoms

Boston (WBZ Newsroom)  -- Children's Hospital is reporting a significant increase in the number of children being seen in their emergency room, many with symptoms of the H1N1 virus. 

The hospital says while about 25-30 youngsters have been brought in with flu symptoms, doctors say most kids are just fine being treated at home. The symptoms vary, but usually include a fever and a cough, sometimes nausea and vomiting. In general many of the children are showing very mild symptoms which resolve themselves in a few days with over the counter medication like Tylenol and rest and fluids. 

Dr. Anne Stack is the hospital's clinical chief of emergency medicine tells WBZ Newsradio 1030 parents should be concerned? Children with fast breathing or trouble breathing....is taking enough fluids, becoming dehydrated and not urinating in 6-8 hours and the child is not waking up or interacting.  

Stack says keep in contact with your pediatrician and he or she can help determine what you need to do.
