MEDICINES PREPAREDNESS KIT 

 

The world today is in the grips of a concomitant financial crisis as well as a medical systems debacle. The planet has proven over the last two decades that disaster can strike quickly, anywhere and anytime. Governments are collapsing as this is being written. It is only prudent for those who can read between the lines and connect the dots that we are prepared as doctors at anytime for a sudden crisis or disaster. Only someone a pound foolish or pennywise stupid would ignore these vital signs of our planet. There are ample resources on the internet to research these news items. They have been reported in our Newsletters for the last four years. Updates below in our International News section. 

The purpose of this workshop, kit and accompanying manual is to address sudden medical needs in the face of a mission trip, disaster, or societal collapse. The availability of food is another subject, already well provided by other companies and agencies and is not subject of this presentation. 

The central medical question is: in the face of sudden disaster, what medicines would be the most readily available, those that would stay preserved in a storage case for (hopefully) a long period of time, for that rainy day, but have immediate utility in the field, community, on a mission, or even (heaven forbid) on the battlefield. It is these thoughts that have led to the development of the Medicines Preparedness Kit. 

Portability and economy immediately came to mind in the development of this kit. The central question was what would the doctor need in the field for just about any condition presented both acute and chronic.  Infectious disease, electrolyte balance, and pain come to mind during emergency, but also the infirmities of the aftermath. The waterborne and food borne infections are topical. 

The need for fluid IV administration comes to mind but what if conditions and materials were not available ? The Murphy drip was invented by Wisconsin surgeon John Benjamin Murphy, for the purpose of administering proctoclysis for hydration and replenishment of electrolytes, via a sodium and calcium chloride solution. This would be used when administration by mouth was not possible because of the condition of the patient. 

In addition, the use of medicines with extremely long shelf life would also be ideal. This would of course lend emphasis on mineral medicines and synthetic vitamins to address infectious disease, sanitize water, provide hydration, stave off starvation from dependence on canned and preserved foods over long periods, or in mission camps where vitamin’s A, B and C are already pandemic deficiencies. 

Concomitant with these considerations is also the fact that most doctors are unprepared for such calamity. Post WWII training has placed emphasis and reliance on medical technology which will disappear when the lights go off or the banks close their doors to depositors. Further, most doctors have no idea how to substitute mineral medicines for antibiotics, treat chronic conditions with what is at hand, let alone how to deal with a population of people already addicted to anti-depressants and what to substitute when the stores are closed.  

Lastly, it will be required to conduct workshops  to accompany this kit to ensure all have the instruction and knowledge to use this kit. 

Few know that he types of pathologies treated with ascorbic acid, Lugol’s solution, Delbet’s solution, Borax, sodium chlorite, sodium bicarbonate, and others, seemingly run the entire gamut of medical knowledge. They need not be reserved for disasters, as the nutritional condition of most nations has already reached disaster levels.  Bodily needs for these nutrients, used as drugs, are so great that so called minimal daily requirements must be ignored. Diabetes mellitus, hypertension and obesity have already reached epidemic proportions. The knowledge of these medicines frankly should have been known long ago by practitioners up to date. 

Consider these concepts: A genetic error is the probable cause for our inability to manufacture ascorbic acid, thus requiring exogenous sources of vitamin C. Food sources are at cause for massive deficiencies of magnesium and iodine, etc. Creature comfort living is at cause for epidemic deficiencies of vitamin D. What we as practitioners do know is that what works for one patient does not always work with another as most patients will have at least one nutrient dependent disease. 

Should the lights go out, the banks declare holiday, a disruption occurs with a major utility, marshall law is declared, or epidemic disease sweeps the terrain, lets face it, a lot of people will be in immediate needs. What you have in this kit however, is enough to do a pretty good job of managing all complaints at the bedside, sufficient for being a good doctor if you read and comprehend the entire contents of this manual provided at our seminars.  

Heaven’s grace, should you never need to use this kit, a study of this manual I propose will make you a better doctor, as its contents are used routinely in my practice and could be in yours too.

ORAL REHYDRATION THERAPY

Oral rehydration therapy (ORT) is a simple treatment for dehydration associated with diarrhea, particularly gastroenteritis or gastroenteropathy, such as that caused by cholera or rotavirus. ORT consists of a solution of salts and sugars that is taken by mouth. It is used around the world, but is most important in the developing world, where it saves millions of children a year from death due to diarrhea, the second leading cause of death (after pneumonia) in children under five.

Ascorbic Acid

Over the past 17 years we have studied the effect of 10 grams by mouth, in patients with diabetes mellitus. We found that every diabetic not taking supplemental vitamin C could be classified as having sub-clinical scurvy. For this reason they find it difficult to heal wounds. The diabetic patient will use the supplemental vitamin C for better utilization of his insulin. It will assist the liver in the metabolism of carbohydrates and to reinstate his body to heal wounds like normal individuals. We found that 60% of all diabetics could be controlled with diet and 10 grams ascorbic acid daily. The other 40% will need much less needle insulin and less oral medication.

Sodium bicarbonate (Baking Soda) is one of the most useful substances in the world of medicine. It can be used to promote health and help cure cancer, kidney disease and a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses. Sodium bicarbonate has been used for decades as an adjunct in chemotherapy and is used commonly in emergency room and intensive care wards around the world.

Sodium bicarbonate also dramatically slows the progress of chronic kidney disease. Sodium bicarbonate can be used safely at home orally and transdermally but should always be used with magnesium chloride for greatest effect in both cancer and kidney disease as well with asthma and diabetes. The two together make up The Ultimate Mitochondrial Cocktail. 

 

Bentonite

Almost everyone has had diarrhea at some point in their lives. In developing countries, where illnesses that cause diarrhea are more common and where health care is less readily available, diarrhea is a major health concern because of its potential to cause severe, life-threatening dehydration. Infants and the elderly are more prone to dehydration from diarrhea. 

This form of clay is known to treat diarrhea, as it absorbs certain viruses and toxins that cause stomach upset. The Eytons' Earth website cites a study overview of 35 cases of acute diarrhea where the use of bentonite clay "provided substantial relief in 34 cases." In these studies, there were a wide variety of causes for diarrhea, including food allergies, food poisoning, colitis and viral infections.

 

Borax

There is a lot of evidence why borax is effective against nearly all forms of fungal disease, whether they be mycoplasma found in lupus, rosacea, dog mange, interstitial cystitis, plasmodium parasites, Morgellon’s disease, or even pneumonia. I think borax medicine is one of the medicines most ignored, misinformed or even suppressed in our present society. The so-called medical authorities have done its propaganda so well that very few know that the toxicity of borax is about equal to that of simple table salt. 

There is another facet about Borax, and that is the mineral element Boron which is able to clean the receptor sites of cell membranes. This is particularly important for diabetes type II and hypothyroidism type II.

Calcium Chloride is a Great Heart Tonic. In fact, it is so potent and effective in its action upon a weak heart that the great English scientist, Sir Lauder Brunton, said: "Heart failure, which so often follows influenza and pneumonia, may be averted by the extended use of calcium chloride." 

Calcium chloride is also used to treat certain insect bites (including bites from black widow spiders). It can also be used to treat certain kinds of hypersensitivity reactions (such as allergic reactions, angioneurotic edema) especially those with uticaria (red itchy bumps on the affected area).

Diatomaceous Earth

This Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth is safe and nontoxic and destroys intestinal parasites physically by injuring them. The shell particles of the DE are sharp enough to cut the parasites but are not harmful to humans and animals. DE is a natural and safe way to kill parasites without chemicals.

 

DMSO

In medicine, DMSO is predominantly used as a topical analgesic, a vehicle for topical application of pharmaceuticals, as an anti-inflammatory, and an antioxidant. Because DMSO increases the rate of absorption of some compounds through organic tissues, including skin, it can be used as a drug delivery system. It is frequently compounded with antifungal medications, enabling them to penetrate not just skin but also toe and fingernails.

Menthol and aspirin have been the base of many, many pain relieving liniments for over 100 years. Ranging from so-called “snake oil” to famous liniments like bengay.  Tiger Balm from China is one of those included. Menthol and salicylic acid are the active ingredients in over-the-counter creams for pain relief. Both are natural compounds from plants and can be synthesized in the laboratory. Though used for similar symptoms of joint and muscle pain, the two chemicals differ in chemical composition and mechanism of action. They can be easily made in ordinary rum, vodka or brandy.

Terpin Hydrate

Terpin hydrate is an excellent expectorant, commonly used to loosen mucus in the setting of acute or chronic bronchitis, and related lung conditions. It is derived from sources such as oil of turpentine, oregano, thyme and eucalyptus. Though it was quite popular in the USA since the late nineteenth century, it was banned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the 1990s due to alleged “lack of proof of efficacy,” meaning it works. I have used it in my practice for over twenty years, it really stops the nagging cough of bronchitis.

Earlier this month, Swiss Finance Minister Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf told parliament that the Swiss government was preparing concrete measures to defend Switzerland against a collapse of the euro.
