Seaweed could be the new treatment for non-Hodgkin's cancer

Seaweed extract could become a leading treatment for cancers of the immune system, such as Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It contains fucoidan, a sulphated polysaccharide, which kills cancer tumours, say researchers from Hashemite University in Jordan. They used a commercially-available seaweed extract on lymphoma cell lines, which were cultivated in the laboratory, and discovered that the extract suppressed lymphoma growth while leaving the healthy cells intact. The researchers are now going to test the extract in clinical trials involving volunteers. (Source: AACR Dead Sea International Conference on Advances in Cancer Research, March 7-10, 2010).

Great breakthrough. Research and development made a great impact toward discovery of various cure for a chronic diseases. Well, well – you simply can't fool all the people all the time. Google should be applauded for standing up to censorship in China and reroute all of Google's China site to Google Hong Kong, as the "Great Firewall" defies any and all ideas of net neutrality and cutting off their Google internet access sends a great message internationally. No matter how many payday cash advances worth, extracted from the people a government aims to oppress, or just how much force they make an effort to use, eventually someone takes a stand. Bravo, Google – I will nevertheless make Skynet jokes about Google, but they are worthy of admiration.
