Him Who Resists It

by Larken Rose

If a couple hundred years ago you watched the daily life of a slave, you may be UNABLE to tell if the person is a slave, or merely an employee. The boss tells him what to do, and he does it. The "boss" might be more or less nasty in telling the slave or employee what to do, but there is one sure way to tell whether the person is a SLAVE, or just an employee, and that is to watch what happens when the slave says "NO" to the boss. All a "boss" can do to an employee who disobeys is fire him. A slave will not fare so well.

Similarly, if you watch the daily life of a citizen of some country, you might not be able to easily tell whether that person is acting on his own free will, or doing what "authority" has ordered him to do. It is only when the citizen REFUSES to obey, and you see what happens to him, that you can determine whether he is a slave of the state, or a free man.

Not only would a spectator have a hard time distinguishing what's really going on, but even the CITIZEN might have a hard time. "Am I doing this because I think it's the right thing to do, or because 'authority' ordered me to?" Well, try disobeying, and see what happens.

"The evils of tyranny are rarely seen but by him who resists it." [John Hay]

Tyranny is hard to recognize if no one is resisting. If people are so complacent that they just always obey, there is no way to tell how nasty the regime is. But one who stands up against tyranny exposes reality for all to see (even if they don't want to see).

This list is first and foremost, and almost exclusively, about the "income tax" deception. But every once in a while some issue gives an insight into the "bigger picture" that I think is important enough to mention. I try not to get into many of them, since there are an infinite number of examples and types of government oppression, dishonesty, and tyranny. But I think this one is worth mentioning. It is a fine example of open, honest resistance to unconstitutional oppression. And it is a fine, but disturbing, example of how our ever-loving "public servants" think and act.

The following is an MP3 audio clip of Rick Stanley interviewing himself, and talking about his trials and tribulations. If you want to know what your country has become, and what the current attitude of those in power is, listen to it. If not, plug your ears.

If you like to be liked by "authority," you might not like hearing this. If you like to think this is a free country, you might not like hearing it. But as for me, I prefer to know the whole truth, to know the worst, and to deal with it. Mr. Stanley knows, far more than most of us ever will, what our country has become.

Sincerely,

Larken Rose
