IRS Caught Cheating!

by Larken Rose

Late last night I sent to this list a message titled "IRS Caught Cheating!" As of this morning, several thousand people had already watched the video linked to in my e-mail, and I know a bunch of people forwarded my the message to their own lists. Shortly I am going to send the same message to my list again, and I ZEALOUSLY BEG you to spread it far and wide.

Based on little tests, and early numbers, and based on the opinions of people who know more about this stuff than I do, I believe the message is about as "general public compatable" as anything about the 861 evidence could be. When tried on people who knew nothing about the issue, it gets their attention. (Though my ugly mug is the only one you see on the message, it certainly wasn't all my doing. And like I said before, I hate this thing being about me, but it seems that my situation gives me some attention-getting leverage.)

On this National Extortion Day (April 15), I implore each of you to do the pretty darn easy task of forwarding the "IRS Caught Cheating!" message, just as it is (no further commentary needed), to everyone you know. Send it to your friends, neighbors, family members, coworkers, enemies, CPAs, attorneys, columnists, talk show hosts, reporters, etc.

I'm sure you've all seen examples of "viral messages." No, I don't mean messages with computer viruses--I mean messages that are interesting enough to John Q. Public that they naturally spread themselves all over the place. (Some "viral messages" are rumors or scams, like claims that Bill Gates is giving away his fortune, but legitimate stories often come to the attention of the public that way, even when the mainstream media doesn't want to report them.)

Look at it mathematically: If for every THREE people who receive the message, one of them sends it to FOUR others, the cycle becomes self-perpetuating (a.k.a. "viral"). If every three people who see it forward it to TEN more people, it obviously spreads a lot faster. But like a medical virus, the more you START with, the faster it spreads. Yes, one little measley message can spread into a tidal wave, but it takes longer. I don't just want you to send one wimpy e-mail to someone already sympathetic to the cause: I want you to "sneeze" this "information virus" on everyone you can think of. Hey, it's short, it isn't selling anything, and it isn't exactly difficult to hit the "delete" button, so it's not like there's any reason to feel bad about doing it. And what better day to do that than April 15?

I will give this list updates on how many people have watched the message. And as I said, shortly I will send the message again (it will again be entitled "IRS Caught Cheating!"). How hard is it to simply forward the message, unchanged, to a few people... or a few dozen... or a few hundred, or thousand?

(Tip: While just hitting the "forward" button works, it looks better if you copy and paste the text, and the title, and send it as a new e-mail, just because people are less likely to look at something that looks like recycled junk mail.)

How much stress will the American people feel today, incorrectly filling out all those returns, and trying to get them in "on time" (though they weren't required at all)? Well, here's a chance to return the favor. It's already spreading, and the IRS already doesn't like it. Let's make THEM dread April 15th for once. They've earned it.

Sincerely,

Larken Rose
